The Committee has five members, and is composed of directors, officers and an external expert appointed by the Board of Directors. The President and CEO chairs the Committee.

The Investment Committee is responsible for recommending the company’s investment policy to the Board of Directors and updating it as required. It enforces the policy and introduces appropriate investment and matching strategies, in keeping with the policy. It also analyzes the results and ensures that the level of asset matching with the company’s financial commitments is consistent with the policy’s objectives.
The Committee recommends the choice of investment managers to the Board of Directors, receives their reports, ensures they comply with the company’s investment policy and evaluates their performance based on the established objectives.
Humania Assurance’s Investment Committee also acts as LS-Travel’s Investment Committee, for which it assumes the aforementioned responsibilities.
Throughout the year, the Committee analyzes manager performance on the portfolios of the company and a subsidiary, namely LS-Travel Insurance.
It conducted quarterly reviews of the investment policy compliance reports presented by the managers and reported to the Board of Directors.
The Committee members tracked the company’s asset-liability matching. Quarterly asset-liability matching reports were submitted to the Board.
In 2018, a new guideline was implemented regarding Life Insurance Capital Adequacy Test (LICAT). As a result, the Committee analyzes the portfolio and continuously ensures its optimization based on the selected investment strategy, as well as the impact of the guideline’s new ratios. Lastly, as part of its duties, the Committee revised its insurance partners’ credit ratings.
